Who I Am
I'm April, a cusper, who's lived everywhere, knows a little bit about everything, and as of 2020 is a crafter not afraid to learn and try new methods.
Why Chi Amigos
In 2010, my beloved lab/cocker spaniel mix Samson (aka Sam, aka Sam-a-lam-a-ding dong) passed away. My boyfriend (later husband) was more of a cat person, but he fell in love with Sam in the few years he got to live with him, and was willing to compromise on a dog, though not one so large.
Enter Chico (aka Mr. Cheeks), our wire haired, three-legged 5 year-old chihuahua who immediately bonded with my husband, and Livvy (aka Livers and Livvy-Lou), our 15-year old extremely obese (she used to sleep on her sister who was oven more obese) and clingy short-hair chihuahua.
Both have since passed away but we've filled our home with many chihuahua friend fosters and foster fails, and we are happy to call all of them friends.
Current products and methods
I currently create:
- Cups using glitter, epoxy, and sublimination, available as pre-made products or commissions
- Burnt Hats, which will soon be available at my pop-up Hat Bar in varying Polk County, FL locations
- Freshies
I'm also known to be an experimental cook, leaning into my education in cake decorating, and trial and error upbringing in an Italian family
